For all the Idli lovers here you have a solution to make quick Idlis prepared with Semolina (Suji) and yogurt. These Idlis are flavored with mustard seeds and curry leaves. South Indian cuisine is very popular for its delicious and healthy food recipes. Rava Idli being one of them. I prefer making these on many occasions as its quick to make and doesn’t require any fermentation.

These days there are many instant Rava Idli ready-made packages available easily in the market. However, homemade Idlis are always a better option. It only takes 20 minutes to have these soft and spongy Idlis. So, Let’s get started!!

Ingredients

Instructions
  1. Add some water in an Idli maker. Add 2 slice of lemon and bring it to boil on high medium.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add semolina and yogurt and whisk well. Making sure there are no lumps.
  3. Now add the mustard seeds, curry leaves and salt. Mix well.
  4. Add one sachet ENO to the batter and mix well. Oil the Idli moulds and add the batter to the moulds with a help of a spoon.
  5. Place the Idli moulds in the Idli maker and cover to let it cook for 5-7 min or till done.
  6. Remove the Idli moulds and let them cool for 2-3 min. Remove from the Idli from the moulds and serve hot with your favorite dip.
Recipe Notes

Don't add water if you find the batter is thick. Add some yogurt if need be.
